In trying to better our guild I try to research the dps classes and find what works best. If you need help with your class perhaps you may find it here.

It is a requirement in this guild to know your class and work hard for your gear and pull your weight. It is not required to follow these posts, but only to use them as a tool to help you better yourselves.

The following spec(s) are from some of the best players on the server, and are raiding specs.

Enhancement:

Recommended damage cycle: SS-ES-FS-Lava Lash

Elemental:

Recommended damage cycle: FS-Lava Burst-Chain Lightning-Lightning Bolt

This is currently my enh build.
This is not to say that this is the best but it is a variation on the cookie cutter spec for enh shaman

The first 2 glyphs are musts for enh shamans, the 3rd is your choice as to what you want.

you can also take 2 points out of ancestral knowledge and 1 point out of call of flame to put in imp shields if you wish.
If you regularly run with frost dk's you can take 2 points out of imp windfury totem and put them somewhere else.

As of patch 3.1
Slow/slow is now the highest dps speeds when it comes to weapons. the reason this happened is that flametoungue spellpower increase now scales with weapon speed. slow/slow has always been best for wf/wf.

Also, because of the changes to enh shamans included making us casters where the only variance is distance from mob/boss, they made caster elem gear viable to us, which means if all you have is elem gear, its not wasted on enh spec and can still do competant dps, it's just not optimal. If you are running around with elem gear as enh spec, change your spec to compensate for it.

This is what I am thinking about if you do not have any enh gear besides an offhand, but you want to try out the spec. Keep in mind this spec is incredibly bursty so there will be some variance. Also this spec has not been simulated so I can not tell if it is the optimal "enh-in-elem gear" spec

this is for frostbrand/flametoungue weapon imbues. you will want a slow offhand for reasons meantioned above.
the point of the build is to get max dmg out of your caster abilities to compensate for your lack of melee gear, but you still want to feel like a melee dps.

again this is just a theory. I dont have the elem gear to test it properly yet.

Edit:some info was a bit off

This is how its done baby!!!!

http://www.wowarmory.com/talent-calc.xm ... 0000000000

This is optimal build. I can get up to 5600 dps in 10 man.

Weapon Buffs: Main Hand Windfurry, Offhand Flametongue

Totems: Magma, Strength, Mana, WF

Rotation: Stormstrike, Lava Lash, Earth Shock, and Lightning Bolt if Maelstrom is at 5.

Keep Lightning Shield and Magma totem refreshed, but dont refresh them if your main attacks
are off cooldown, only refresh during the cooldown periods.

Use spirit wolves before Heroism is cast. Wolves will benefit from all buffs that you benefit from. If it is a long
fight you can always pop your wolves twice, once in the beginning and once in the middle.
